Your First Bug Report

Let's walk through creating your first bug report (called a "slice" in Brie) in under 60 seconds.

Quick walkthrough

  1. Navigate to the page with the bug. Open the page where you noticed the issue.

  2. Open Brie. Click the Brie icon in your toolbar, or right-click anywhere on the page and select Brie - Bug Capture and choose a capture mode.

  3. Capture a screenshot. Choose your capture mode:

    • Window — Captures what you see right now.
    • Fullscreen — Scrolls and captures the entire page.
    • Area — Click and drag to select a region (shows dimensions as you drag).
  4. Preview appears. A small preview dialog appears in the bottom-right corner of the page showing your capture.

  5. Edit & annotate. Click Edit on the preview to open the full annotation editor. Highlight the bug with arrows, shapes, or text. Use the blur tool to hide sensitive data. You can take additional screenshots from here too.

  6. Add details and save. Fill in a title and description in the side panel, then click Create. Brie automatically attaches:

    • Browser and device information
    • Console errors from the page
    • Network request data
    • A timestamp
  7. Share it. Your slice opens in a new tab with a shareable link. Send it to your team.

That's it. Your developers now have everything they need to reproduce and fix the bug.

Pro tip: You can also capture screenshots from the right-click context menu — right-click and select Brie - Bug CaptureArea, Fullscreen, or Window.
