FAQs about Churn Rate Calculator

What is churn rate?

Churn rate is the percentage of customers who stop using your product during a given period. It is calculated as (customers lost ÷ customers at start) × 100.

What is a good monthly churn rate for SaaS?

For B2B SaaS, a monthly churn rate below 1% is considered healthy. Rates between 2–5% monthly are typical for earlier-stage companies but warrant attention.

How is projected annual churn calculated?

For monthly churn, annual churn is approximated as 1 − (1 − monthly_rate)^12. For quarterly churn it uses (1 − rate)^4. Annual input is used directly.

What is retention rate?

Retention rate is the inverse of churn rate: 100% − churn rate. It represents the proportion of customers who stayed during the period.
