About RICE Score Calculator
Prioritize your product backlog using the RICE scoring framework developed by Intercom. Enter features with their Reach (number of users affected), Impact (1–3 scale), Confidence (percentage), and Effort (person-months), and the tool calculates each feature's RICE score and sorts them by priority. RICE helps remove bias from prioritization by giving every feature an objective numerical ranking.
How to use
- Enter one feature per line using the format: "Feature Name | Reach | Impact | Confidence | Effort".
- Use the sample data button to load an example, then click Convert.
- Features are automatically ranked highest to lowest by RICE score in the output.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs about RICE Score Calculator
What is the RICE scoring framework?
RICE stands for Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort. It is a prioritization framework created by Intercom to help product teams score features objectively. The formula is (Reach × Impact × Confidence%) / Effort.
What values should I use for Impact?
Impact is typically scored on a scale: 3 = massive, 2 = high, 1 = medium, 0.5 = low, 0.25 = minimal. It represents how much each feature will affect individual users who encounter it.
What does Confidence mean in RICE?
Confidence is a percentage (0–100) that represents how sure you are about your Reach and Impact estimates. A feature with high reach but low confidence might score lower than a well-validated smaller feature.
What unit is Effort measured in?
Effort is measured in person-months — the total work required across all team members. A feature requiring one developer for two weeks is roughly 0.5 person-months.
Does this tool store my data?
No. All scoring and ranking happens in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
