Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs about Internet Speed Test
How does the speed test work?
The test downloads a 1 MB file from Cloudflare's CDN and measures how long it takes. Download speed is calculated from the file size and transfer time.
Why is my speed different from other speed test sites?
Speed test results vary based on the test server location, file size used, network conditions, and measurement methodology. This test uses Cloudflare's nearest edge server.
Does this test upload speed?
Currently this tests download speed and latency only. Upload speed testing will be added in a future update.
Why did the test fail?
Ad blockers, corporate firewalls, or browser privacy extensions may block the test requests to Cloudflare. Try disabling extensions or using a different browser.
Is my data safe?
The test only downloads a dummy file from Cloudflare to measure speed. Your IP address is visible to Cloudflare during the test, as with any website visit.
