Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs about Bug Report Template Generator

Which bug types are supported?

The tool supports five types: UI Bug (with screenshot and viewport fields), API Bug (with endpoint, headers, and request/response bodies), Performance Bug (with load time and Core Web Vitals), Security Bug (with CVSS score and remediation), and Accessibility Bug (with WCAG criteria and assistive technology steps).

Can I use Markdown output in GitHub Issues?

Yes. The Markdown output is compatible with GitHub Issues, GitLab Issues, Jira (with Markdown mode), Linear, and any other tracker that supports Markdown formatting.

What is CVSS?

CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) is a standardized framework for rating the severity of security vulnerabilities on a scale from 0 to 10. The template includes a placeholder for the score and a severity label (Low, Medium, High, Critical).

What WCAG criteria are referenced in the accessibility template?

The template includes a placeholder where you fill in the specific WCAG criterion (e.g. "1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) — Level AA"). It is not pre-filled because the relevant criterion depends on the specific issue being reported.

Can I customise the template after generating it?

Yes. The template is plain text or Markdown that you copy and paste into your issue tracker. Once pasted, you can edit, extend, or reformat it however you like.
